Pedro Sosa 

Is the Immigrant rights program director for the west region for the American Friends Service Committee. At AFSC, he works to strengthen leadership and voices of immigrant communities, to build a strong national immigrant and refugee rights agenda. Born in Guatemala, Pedro worked for many years with community organizations in his home country and Mexico and moved to the United States in 1991.  He is the co-founder of VOZ Workers Rights Education Project in Portland, former board member of Immigration Counseling Services, and CAUSA, currently member of the Portland Immigrants’ Rights coalition, Willamette Valley Rapid response collective and board member of Ecumenical Ministries of Oregon.  Sosa also Advocates for indigenous people displaced and Immigrants at the permanent forum of indigenous issues at the UN.
